The connection between emotion and expression is fundamental to art. Yet, so often when we create - we get locked up, “in our head”, stuck. We look to our learned skills to free us. But what if being blocked - isn’t an issue of skills or mindset - what if it’s an issue of innate Heart-set?
Heart-Led Painting is an “Expressive-Painting” process that uses emotional-voice as a creative guide, allowing technique to follow. This process is crafted to help shift your approach to a blank canvas and offer you a vehicle for the expression of your intuitive energy - your heart’s energy. The result is a soul-filled “letter” from your inner voice. Designed to guide the artist using accessible and fun approaches; like a visit with a good friend, each session is welcoming yet different from the last. Come invite your mind to exit and your heart to speak!
This is a 2 part process: We lay an expressive foundation of our painting first, which will inform the painting of your subject, the 2nd layer.
Please note:
- This is not a “skill development” class, though skills are welcome!
- Each session offers different themes and techniques to engage creative freedom and enter into a conversation with your intuition.
- We use Acrylic Paints (provided) as they allow for layering and dry quickly.
- There is no critique in this class. Instead, we engage in a discussion around our creative choices.
-*You may or may not finish your painting, depending the pace at which you’d like to work. Both results are ok!
What you will leave with:
- A color filled, self-expressive canvas capturing your intuition.
- A fresh experience using an Expressive-Painting approach.
- A new perspective when approaching a blank canvas
